Companies Combine Effort To Develop And Distribute Digital Phone Service

(Minden, NV) InformaCorp, LLC and WPTI Telecom, LLC (WPTI) have partnered in a contractual agreement to develop and distribute a new Voice over Internet Protocol primarily engineered for the hospitality industry.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is on its way to becoming industry standard. In it’s most basic form VoIP is a digital phone service, or telephone via Internet. Meaning voice conversations are routed over the Internet instead of through standard telephone lines. By utilizing all existing telecom hardware the host property can seamlessly transition their guests from the standard phone system to the new VoIP technology. Furthermore they can drive up revenues by charging their guests a small per stay fee, which is less than typical hotel long distance charges and the guest isn’t using up precious cellular phone plan minutes while roaming away from home. Another option, the lodging facility can offer the VoIP technology as a free service to entice travelers to stay at their properties.

George Mannes, MONEY Magazine, states that consumers are searching for ways to combat rising long distance charges and fees. “About 80 percent of wireless phone users in a recent study said they were planning to dump their landlines by 2007” they will save a bundle by not paying for their long distance service and using their cellular plans to make long distance calls. In this, Voice over IP is a simple way to cut a huge cost from the hotel’s bottom line and the guest’s bottom line. Guest benefits abound, from not using up cellular phone minutes to better reception where spotty cellular phone service is an issue. A win – win situation for both the guest and the hotel.
